On a beautiful sunny Sunday in late June, more than 160 children, moms, dads, brothers, sisters, grandparents, and caregivers gathered together for a full day of experiencing all the fun that Lewis Adventure Farm & Zoo has to offer.
When we host a family event, it’s not just for the families … it’s just as meaningful for us, and creates some powerful moments for our staff and Board.
A chance to meet families and scholarship recipients face-to-face.
A chance to laugh alongside kids as they enjoy some new and fun activities.
A chance to see hope in the eyes of parents as they watch their kids enjoy a sunny day with family and friends.
“This is an outing I don’t think we would have attempted on our own, but Family Hope Foundation made it possible. Having a pavilion where we could store extra equipment and supplies meant we could bring my son’s safe foods and have both a walker and wheelchair handy, without having to push both around the park the entire time. Our son doesn’t love splashing water, so we weren’t sure how the splash pad would go over at first, but he saw his friend out there having fun in her walker and was motivated to join in. He ended up having the best time cooling off and exploring. Thanks for providing the support for him to try new things and make great memories!”

Family events offer a reprieve from therapy. A chance for a kid to just be a kid. A chance to explore and try new things in a place that’s accessible to everyone. A chance to simply be together and have fun as a family.
These beautiful days remind us of why we do what we do, and that these moments and memories last far beyond a single day.
