Thank you to all the wonderful organizations that partner with with Family Hope Foundation as we work to strengthen families!
JQ99 & The Pledge Radio make an IMPACT on Family Hope Foundation!
JQ99.3 & The Pledge radio stations chose Family Hope Foundation to benefit from their Impact Months in 2016 and 2017 - a drive to educate their listeners about what it means to raise a child with special needs, to raise awareness of the comunity need and to make an impact on that need through scholarships for therapy and family fun! To date, their listeners have raised $16,534 for Family Hope Foundation, resulting in 14 life changing therapy scholarships and 548 tickets to events for families to have fun together in an emotionally safe environment. WOW! THANK YOU!
Family Day at the Whitecaps!
In spring of 2016 and 2017, we were able to host an amazing FREE day for our families at the Whitecaps due to the generosity of the Impact Drives at JQ and The Pledge radio stations. We had an outfield deck just for indivduals with special needs and their families to enjoy space, community and the game together. Tickets included all you can eat lunch, activities, autographs on the field and running/rolling the bases after the game!
Family Night at the Grand Rapids DRIVE - February 2015 & 2016
We had a great night at Grand Rapids DRIVE semi-professional basketball team's game! Families enjoyed reserved seating and the FHF exclusive Party Deck with activities hosted by the Grand Rapids Children's Museum, appearances by the mascot and dancers, as well as fellowship with other FHF families!
Family Night with the Visser YMCA on June 28, 2014
Family Hope Foundation hosted a Family Night at the Visser YMCA from 6:30pm until 9:00pm on June 28. Families enjoyed a pizza dinner, rock climbing wall, swimming, basketball and soccer. There was also an opportunity to use the cardio equipment with the assistance of the Visser's Special Needs Fitness Staff.
Thank you to the Visser YMCA staff, Fairlife for the chocolate milk donation and all the families who had fun with us that night!
Glow in the Park 5K Run at Millenium Park - July 26, 2014
The ultimate party fun run! Over 700 runners participated in our 2013 event, so we did it again! Trivium Racing donates a generous 25% of the event’s proceeds to Family Hope Foundation’s mission.
Runners got a goody bag of glow accessories and paint to adorn themselves to the height of glowy fashion. THen they brave the seas of foam (industrial machines spewing foam to the beat of some hot music), the rain storm of UV glow water (volunteers will spray a rainbow of glow water as you run past), and the dust cloud of neon powder (volunteers will toss handfuls of neon goodness to make sure you are covered in color and glowing like a champ)! All followed by a dance party into the night!
Family Hope Foundation hosted a family picnic before the run for a chance to meet and connect with other families.
SPECIAL FAMILIES FUN FEST
In September 2012, Family Hope Foundation and the DeltaPlex Arena hosted the inaugural Special Families Fun Fest. Nearly 100 volunteers and 45 corporations and special needs organizations came together to create a truly unique and memorable experience for the special needs community. The event combined family fun with an abundance of resources for parents. Almost 1,000 people came out to enjoy the day!
Through the generosity of the DeltaPlex Arena, we have been able to offer this unique and fun-filled day for families each year!
“When we started to develop the Fun Fest with Family Hope Foundation, our staff thought this would be a nice event and a good way to give back to our community. What we experienced when we participated in the event was much more. Seeing the faces, hearing the laughter and receiving the letters from the kids and families who participated became our gifts. We never imagined that we would receive more that we gave, but we did.” Joel Langlois DeltaPlex Arena, President/Owner
“Thank you for caring about families who are different!!!”
“Thanks for doing this for our kids and their families. It’s nice to be able to come together and celebrate as a community.”
“My daughter with Down Syndrome, age 25, had a ball. There were so many things for her to do, which isn’t always easy to find at her age. She saw many of her friends from school and camp. On the way home she said, “I’m lots of happy”.”
“This was the highlight of our fall – really, I can’t tell you how much it meant to my girls.”
“We learned so much about the resources in our area. We just moved to the lakeshore and now have so much information.”
